Responsibilities
  • Engineer, implement, and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) IaaS and PaaS services, including compute, storage, networking, load balancers, and database platform capabilities.
  • Own and support core OCI platform services, including tenancy structure, compartments, networking patterns, access models, and shared operational standards.
  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and supportable OCI solutions using cloud engineering best practices and reusable patterns.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, or similar automation frameworks.
  • Develop automation for provisioning, configuration management, patching, backup activities, and operational workflows.
  • Administer and support Oracle platform services.

  • Implement and support observability capabilities using monitoring, logging, alerting, and event-driven automation to improve service reliability and operational visibility.
  • Partner with IAM, database, application, and security teams to define and implement secure, supportable, and well-governed platform solutions.
  • Respond to operational incidents, complex technical issues, and service disruptions; lead or support problem management efforts and provide clear status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, secure configuration management, and control implementation across the OCI environment.
  • Participate in security incident response activities and support remediation efforts for cloud platform services.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for architecture, standards, procedures, support models, and operational runbooks.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support business-critical services.
  • Support release activities, platform upgrades, maintenance planning, validation testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with enterprise information security policies, procedures, and audit requirements; support remediation of identified control gaps and process improvements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Advanced experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in a hands-on engineering or platform role.
  • Strong knowledge of OCI core services, including compute, storage, networking, security and identity, and database-related services.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and repeatable cloud provisioning practices.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps automation, including CI/CD pipelines and scripting using tools such as Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, APIs, Python, PowerShell, and GitHub.
  • Working knowledge of OCI PaaS services, preferably Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle Analytics Cloud, Fusion applications and other Oracle platform offerings.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Autonomous Database services such as ATP and ADW.
  • Experience supporting patching, backup, recovery, and operational maintenance functions in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational observability practices in cloud platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, platform services, networking, and integrations.
  • Effective organizational, planning, communication, and time management skills.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a senior technical, engineering, or cloud platform role.

Desired Qualifications
  • Oracle Cloud certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with OCI governance concepts such as compartments, tagging, policy design, and platform standardization.
  • Experience with secrets management and secure credential handling solutions, such as OCI Vault, CyberArk, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments is a plus.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering, security, IAM, database, and application support teams.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Improves platform reliability, security, and operational maturity through automation and standardization.
  • Reduces manual effort by implementing reusable infrastructure patterns and efficient operational processes.
  • Partners effectively across teams to deliver stable, secure, and scalable OCI platform capabilities.
  • Contributes to a strong engineering culture focused on continuous improvement, ownership, and service excellence.
