Job description

This Part Time Non-Bargaining position is based on a 29 hour work week with a pay range TBD. This position will work at Leisure Services Beach Complex located at 10 South Ocean Blvd, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.

Pay Rate: TBD based on qualifications and experience

Part-time employees are not eligible for City health and retirement plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will patrol the municipal public beach area to monitor activities of swimmers and prevent illegal conduct
  • Observation of activities will be in an assigned area conducted on foot by vehicle or from tower with binoculars to detect hazardous conditions such as swimmers in distress, disturbances, or safety infractions
  • Position will rescue distressed persons from the ocean, examine injured individuals, administer first aid, and monitor vital signs
  • Emergency records, medical reports and weather conditions must be complied daily.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Experienced lifeguarding in the ocean preferred; must be able to pass the ocean swim test and a physical. Be able to work weekends and holidays.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma/GED

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

CPR, Lifeguarding Today, External Defibrillator and others as determined by the City and Chief Lifeguard.
