Job description

Tarnished Truth Distilling Compnay inside Historic Cavalier Resort


Assists with customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and other related activities for Tarnished Truth Distilling Company’s small gift shop located within the Historic Cavalier Hotel. This position supports the day-to-day activities, routine stock management, customer service activities and provides input into policies and procedures. Works directly with management to ensure compliance of state and federal laws relating to distilled spirits sales within the gift shop.


Level One

  1. Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:

 

  1. Know your job.Complete job skills training and possess a clear knowledge of the job, know property standards, listen attentively in Pre-shift and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations. Apply experience and training to accomplish tasks.
  2. Be on time.Follow attendance guidelines and reports to work on time, and in uniform and follow clock in and out procedures.
  3. Be on stage.Associates are friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist.  Associates must follow property personal appearance standards, is well groomed, in uniform and practices good personal hygiene.
  4. Serve.Conduct yourself professionally and collaboratively with Guests and fellow Associates an in accord with the company’s service culture, “The Keys to Making it Right.”
  5. Work smart.Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.
  6. Use your tools. Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.
  7. Measure Up.Associate produces work that meets the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality.  Associate meets goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.
  8. Respect the space.Keep your work area clean and organized. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.
  9. Be safe.Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety or security violations in accordance with company policy.  
  10. Support the Team:Cooperate with other associates and supervisors striving to create a positive work environment. Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.

  1. Performs computerized cash register sales transactions and cash management
  2. Assists with the development and implementation of policies, and procedures consistent with those of the organization
  3. Provides sales coordination and performs direct sales and customer service
  4. Monitors sales through the cash register; resolves discrepancies, prepares, reconciles, and records cash receipts for deposit, and prepares sales reports
  5. Monitors and coordinates ordering, receipt, and return of merchandise and/or equipment.
  6. Monitors general housekeeping cleanliness within the area; ensures that equipment and facilities remain in good repair, and that employee and customer safety standards are maintained
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  8. Performs all state and federal required reports for sales of Distilled spirits within the gift shop

Experience At least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified Experience

Experience Knowledge of retail stock management and control principles and procedures
Experience Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques, retail advertising, sales promotion and/or visual merchandising techniques
Skill Ability to analyze and solve problems, ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
Skill Ability to summarize and reconcile retail sales and operating statistics, and to prepare routine statistical reports
Skill Ability to operate a computerized cash register
Skill Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
