Familiarity with irrigation systems, groundskeeping equipment, and certifications like GCSAA are commonly required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills help manage staff and coordinate with club management and members. These abilities ensure the course is maintained to high standards, enhancing playability and member satisfaction.

Groundskeepers and course staff must use specialized techniques and salt-tolerant grass varieties to maintain the fairways and greens. Golf instructors and event staff also adapt by being flexible with scheduling and providing guidance to players on managing wind and weather. Teamwork and communication are essential, as staff regularly collaborate to quickly address issues caused by the coastal environment, ensuring a high-quality experience for members and guests.
