They often work in collaboration with healthcare teams, contractors, and family members across private residences, community settings, and sometimes assisted living environments. Daily tasks may include conducting in-home assessments, recommending adaptive equipment, designing modification plans, and providing client education. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on clients' quality of life by addressing real barriers to daily living.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the occupational therapy home modification position, and why are they important?

Success in Occupational Therapy Home Modification requires a strong background in occupational therapy, expertise in environmental assessments, and knowledge of home modification techniques, generally supported by relevant licensure or certification.
