Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse, performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Participates in peri-operative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical intervention by scrubbing on surgical procedures and performing supportive tasks to facilitate peri-operative nursing care.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Successfully completion of Obstetrical Technician orientation and completion of specified competencies within the probationary period.

  • Current BLS-Heart Saver.
