Job description

Maintains and repairs a wide variety of automotive and specialized equipment and heavy construction equipment. Performs difficult and skilled mechanical work in diesel and/or automotive equipment and advanced automotive computer diagnostics.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive/heavy equipment mechanic with at least one (1) year of experience performing repairs to heavy diesel equipment and/or one (1) year of experience performing repairs on advanced automotive computers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Using scanner tools/equipment analyzer/On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) II systems,
  • Three (3) years of experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel and gas engine systems, Auxiliary Power Systems (APS), hydraulic systems and controls, welding and fabrication, heavy truck/heavy equipment powertrain and drivelines,
  • Completion of a vocational/trade school program in Automotive/Heavy Equipment or related field, and
  • Front-end alignment,
  • Current ASE Master Technician Certification (copy of Certification must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).
