Job description

OB Hospitalist Physician
Position Summary:
As part of the Ob Hospitalist clinical team, an Ob Hospitalist embraces delivering a quality OB Hospitalist program.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care to patients including but not limited to providing contraceptive services (at hospitals that provide contraceptive services)
  • Deliver direct patient care to high-risk patients including situations where Maternal Fetal Medicine support may only be available by telephone or video consultation
  • Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds
  • Serve as the โ€˜Safety Officerโ€™ on Labor and Delivery to ensure that all patients, regardless of their primary admitting clinician, have the safest possible outcomes
  • Support community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance as requested including practice coverage as requested and as safely available
Shifts:
  • 24-hour shifts (majority)
  • Some 12-hour or mixed-shift models
  • Full-time clinicians typically work 5โ€“9 (24-hr) shifts per 28-day block

Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Active Candidate Ob/Gyn Physician
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of assigned site
  • Highly relational, able to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with all stakeholders (Hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and OBHG corporate staff)
  • Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care (preferred)
