Locum Tenens Ob/Gyn Opportunity In Richmond, Va

Consistent coverage. Balanced OB + GYN mix. Strong clinical support.

This is a well-structured locum opportunity in Richmond, Virginia, supporting a busy OB/GYN practice while a physician is on medical leave. You'll work across both office and hospital settings with a collaborative team of physicians and midwives, handling a mix of routine and complex OB/GYN care.

The Role Richmond, VA Coverage: May through August (multiple dates) Office + Hospital/Call (OB/GYN) EMR: EPC Call via PerfectServe | 1:4 ratio

Schedule Snapshot

  • Mix of office (8aโ€“4p) + 24-hour call
  • Flexible coverage blocks across Mayโ€“August
  • Avg. 25โ€“30 patients/day in clinic

What You'll Be Working With

  • 4 Physicians (1 on leave) + 5 Midwives
  • 1:1 clinical support (CMA/LPN/RN per provider)
  • Onsite lab + ultrasound
  • 3 exam rooms per provider
  • Level III NICU | Trauma Level II

Clinical Mix

  • 90% Low-risk OB | 10% High-risk OB
  • 20% GYN
  • ~10% C-sections
  • 1โ€“4 GYN surgeries/day (provider preference)

Procedures & Scope

  • OB: Routine & complicated deliveries, C-sections, VBACs, fetal monitoring, ultrasounds
  • L&D: Vaginal delivery, forceps, breech, multiples, laceration repair
  • GYN: Office procedures (IUD, colpo, LEEP) + surgical (laparoscopic, ectopic, cystectomy, etc.)

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified/Eligible OBGYN
  • Active VA license (or willing to obtain)
  • BLS & ACLS
  • NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days)
  • Must be local (mileage only reimbursed)
  • Must specify location at name clear
