Position Overview

Oasis Mental Clinic is inviting applications for a compassionate and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic team. This full-time position will primarily focus on providing both telehealth and face-to-face counseling services. As a pivotal member of our community-focused health clinic in Jersey City, NJ, you will help clients navigate their paths toward healing, recovery, and overall well-being. We are pleased to offer a competitive salary range of USD 90,000โ€“110,000 per year and a SIGN-ON BONUS for selected candidates.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in a remote setting, enhancing flexibility for both staff and clients. Our full-service Community Health Clinic model allows us to reach diverse populations and provide comprehensive support. Our operational hours extend from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, creating a community-oriented approach to mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' trauma histories and tailor appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience building, and overall mental wellness.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to promote healing.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on helping clients process their trauma and develop effective coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care for each client.
  • Provide crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, offering immediate support and guidance.
  • Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to foster understanding and promote healing.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.
  • Engage in regular case consultations, participate in team meetings, and pursue professional development focused on trauma-informed care.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to continually enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele comprising individuals of various age groups and backgrounds, all of whom are seeking mental health support for trauma-related concerns. Our patient population is characterized by its motivation and openness to engage in therapeutic processes, allowing for effective treatment outcomes. As a member of the Oasis team, you will play a vital role in positively impacting the lives of those navigating the challenges associated with trauma.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid LPC licensure in the state of New Jersey.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and resilience-building approaches.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications to document and manage client information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on maintaining a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and composed in high-stress situations, ensuring the well-being of clients during challenging times.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience providing trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
  • Familiarity with working in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative care for clients.
  • A willingness to view couples therapy as part of your practice, with training provided as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary up to USD 110,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes guaranteed pay with annual increases, bonus opportunities, paid orientation, and monthly professional development. Our supportive work environment ensures that you are never on call, with No Show Protection and a fully established clinical caseload typically within the first 90 days post-credentialing (costs covered by the clinic).
