Job description

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, through its affiliation with New York City Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, is seeking two part time (16 hours and 24 hours per week) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to join our expanding team. The department is focused on growing its orthognathic practice and is launching bone regeneration and implantology services. Elmhurst Hospital Center is a 545-bed tertiary care facility and an ACS-verified level 1 trauma center in the ethnically diverse borough of Queens, NY.

Responsibilities include providing comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care to patients, including but not limited to orthognathic, bone regeneration and implantology procedures; supervise and mentor oral and maxillofacial residents and students within the clinic, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for utilizing operating room privileges to perform complex procedures and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes. S/He will participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities; collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure cohesive patient care, support community service events and promote the hospital's mission.

Candidates must have a DDS or DMD degree and be board eligible/board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. Qualified candidates should have strong clinical abilities, teaching experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. S/He should be able to demonstrate experience in orthognathic surgery, bone regeneration and implantology. There is opportunity for a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. Compensation ranges from $124,800 to $187,200, excluding on-call coverage and faculty practice distributions that are awarded throughout the academic year.
