Litigation Legal Assistant – Civil & Commercial (CT/NY)

Location: Greenwich, CT (Onsite)

Salary: $70k - $90k + 10% bonus, 3 weeks PTO and fully comprehensive benefits

This role entails providing high-level administrative and litigation support to two trial attorneys handling complex civil and commercial matters in CT/NY, including personal injury, wrongful death, real estate, land use, contract, construction, employment, and general litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage calendars, schedule legal proceedings, and track deadlines.
  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents.
  • Prepare, e-file, and serve documents in CT/NY state and federal courts.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files.
  • Assist with discovery: track schedules, organize productions, and coordinate with parties.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, counsel, and court staff.
  • Prepare materials and coordinate logistics for hearings, trials, and ADR.
  • Conduct factual and docket research.
  • Assist with billing, time entry, and expense reports.
  • Support firm and client development activities.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of litigation legal assistant/paralegal experience in civil/commercial litigation, personal injury, real estate, land use, construction, contract, or employment disputes.
  • Experience filing in CT/NY courts; familiarity with federal e-filing preferred.
  • Experience supporting trial lawyers through all phases of litigation.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation workflow.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong client service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, PDF software, and case management systems.
  • Comfortable working with legal, medical, real estate, and business documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

Education and Credentials:

  • Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Notary Public in CT/NY a plus.

Ability to commute to Greenwich, CT office;
