What you'll do

  • Pattern Construction:Skillfully select, cure, and laminate wood stocks, then use hand tools and precision machinery to sculpt highly accurate, durable patterns and core boxes that serve as the foundation for industrial castings.
  • Blueprint Interpretation:Analyze complex engineering schematics and 3D CAD models daily to calculate precise dimensions, shrink allowances, and draft angles essential for successful casting extraction.
  • Quality Control:Perform rigorous dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and templates to ensure patterns meet exact engineering specifications within strict tolerances before production.
  • Tooling Maintenance:Inspect, repair, and modify existing patterns and tooling to extend their lifespan and accommodate engineering changes, ensuring continuous production efficiency.
  • Production Support:Build, mount, rig, and set up pattern equipment, perform pattern changes for production runs, and ensure timely preparation of patterns according to production schedules.
  • Safety First:Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
  • Travel Requirements:Minimal travel expected; primarily onsite work in the Candler, Florida facility.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience in precision woodworking, lamination, and safe operation of shop machinery and hand tools.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD schematics.
  • Proficiency in foundry mathematics including calculating dimensions, draft angles, and metal shrink allowances.
  • Solid background in quality inspection using precision measuring instruments to verify tight tolerances.
