Job description

Regulatory Affairs Specialist (Food Manufacturing)

Dessert Holdings is looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to help administer Dessert Holdings' Regulatory Compliance Program, ensuring that packaging, specifications, and labeling meet regulatory requirements for the country of sale. This position also reviews raw materials to determine if they meet regulatory requirements while also supporting supplier complaint process.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain ingredient declarations and nutrition fact tables for products to ensure compliance with regulations for country of sale.
  • Create and maintain formulations and nutrient values within Genesis R&D Software Program.
  • Participate in the review and approval process of specifications, nutrition facts, and other regulatory documents for raw materials, packaging, and suppliers.
  • Participate in label reviews and the artwork approval process.
  • Support Sales with customer driven requests and requirements relevant to technical documents, questions, and product development.
  • Create and maintain internal and external customer specifications.
  • Support Master Case Label creation and data in ERP for label creation.
  • Coordinate elements of the kosher certification process.
  • Participate in regulatory and certification audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Food Science, Nutrition, or other closely related field
  • At least 1+ year of prior experience in Regulatory and/or Quality Assurance Management, and/or Research and Development within the food/bakery industry
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for US and Canadian food packaging and labeling
  • Understanding of Quality Management systems including GFSI, HACCP, and GMPs
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with nutrition software programs
  • Strong team player with the ability to build relationships to achieve project goals
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage and meet deadlines for assigned tasks
  • Must be willing to work overtime when project work requires
