Location: Canada - Remote
Job description:
  1. Results-driven Business cum Data Analyst with strong expertise in translating business needs into data-driven insights and reporting solutions.
  2. Adept at requirement gathering, stakeholder collaboration, and facilitating workshops to define scope and priorities.
  3. Skilled in data analysis, visualization, and standardizing data models to ensure consistency and usability.
  4. Proven ability to bridge business and technical teams to deliver actionable insights and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborates with client leadership to identify business opportunities, pinpoint gaps and needs, develop value propositions, gather requirements, and create data-driven reporting solutions.
  2. Conducts workshops for requirement elicitation and facilitates solution discussions with clients, including scope definition, alternative designs, feasibility, and prioritizing the backlog.
  3. Perform source to target data mapping across policy, claims, billing, or underwriting like systems.
  4. Validate transformations and data quality during data migration or integration. Validate transformations and data quality during data migration or integration
  5. Develops an understanding of existing data architecture and future roadmap.
  6. Applies advanced problem-solving skills to create visualizations that clearly articulate findings and provide actionable recommendations; experienced in dual shore engagements.
  7. Defines and standardizes data domains and business rules to ensure consistency and reusability.
  8. Performs gap analysis to identify discrepancies in data structures, definitions, and business logic.
  9. Collaborates closely with data architects and engineers to translate business needs into easy to consume deliverables using data engineering and business intelligence tools.
  10. Creates documentation, including business process flows and data dictionaries.
  11. Serves as a liaison between business units and data/reporting teams
  12. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements..
  13. Translate business needs into functional specifications and data requirements.
  14. Demonstrates proficiency and hands-on experience with SQL, pysparks , reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar to analyze data.
  15. Work with data engineers to define data models and ensure data readiness for analysis.
  16. Create clear and concise documentation including BRDs, FRDs, data dictionaries, and process flows.
  17. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a compelling and actionable manner

Key Skillsets & Experience:
  1. 8+ years of relevant experience in data projects - new development and BAU
  2. Data Tools/ Languages: SQL, Azure , AWS, Power BI, Snowflake, Pyspark
  3. Insurance Domain knowledge is preferred
  4. Excellent communication & presentation skills and should be able to communicate with client effectively
  5. Experience in managing SQL codes and collaborating with customer on data model evolution
  6. Good knowledge of Relational Data Base Management and SQL
  7. Strong SQL and Python
  8. Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments
  9. Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
  10. Strong and in-depth understanding of Enterprise data stores and data engineering Fundamentals
