This people leader role is responsible for providing effective leadership to Nutrien's Regulatory Labeling Team and overseeing strategic industry engagement, demonstrating a strong passion for industry advocacy. This dual focused position will enhance and maintain our efforts in labeling regulatory compliance for North America while professionally representing Nutrien at industry association activities and events.
What You'll Do:
  • Guide and support the team responsible for the development, maintenance, and compliance of all Nutrien product labels, facilitating the development of team members
  • Lead by example, modeling Nutrien's core values and providing ongoing coaching to contribute to employee development and experience, fostering autonomy and accountability
  • Develop and refine internal policies and procedures to ensure labeling compliance for Nutrien products
  • Improve existing processes to achieve full digitalization and audit tracking for label creation and review
  • Own and manage large labeling projects, such as compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Spanish labeling requirements or major marketing graphic changes
  • Coordinate self-assessment and/or audit activities related to labeling, working closely with Internal Audit and the Regulatory team
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance within labeling operations and complete other duties as needed to meet business objectives
  • With guidance, lead Nutrien's industry engagement strategy for Regulatory & Stewardship
  • Collaborate with Government & Industry Affairs, Legal and others to prioritize and track engagement activities
  • Participate in relevant industry associations (e.g., CropLife, TFI, AAPFCO) to represent Nutrien's interests, serving on committees as requested
  • Lead responses and provide support for requests for comments from authorities or industry associations, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-coordinated input from the Regulatory & Stewardship team
  • Monitor, track, and evaluate emerging and evolving regulations affecting Nutrien's products and operations
  • Maintain trackers for industry engagement activities and key regulations
  • Drive compliance projects and/or reporting requirements resulting from new regulations that impact multiple products, collaborating with Legal, Environmental, Government & Industry Affairs, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the regulatory knowledge management system (Global Vision/Compass) for labeling and industry engagement, identifying opportunities for automation and integration between tools
  • Model our core value of safety by enabling and leading a culture in which you are actively contributing to a safe work environment
  • Complete additional tasks and assignments to meet business needs and objectives

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biological or Environmental Science, Agronomy, Product Stewardship or related field is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in U.S. product registration (agricultural) for crop inputs
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisor or manager leadership role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. labeling requirements, operating independently in proof-reading labels, locating errors, and implementing solutions to ensure accurate labeling is submitted
  • Proven experience managing and leading a team to achieve results
  • Effective interaction with regulators and working committees within a trade association
  • Process-driven with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Skilled at translating complex technical concepts for varied audiences
  • Capable of exercising discretion and discernment in handling sensitive matters
  • Demonstrated leadership through influence and strategic guidance
  • Ability to travel 5% to 15% in North America
  • Canadian or international crop input product registration experience is an asset
  • MSc or PhD preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this role, in Colorado & California location, is between $95,700 - $150,370, Illinois location, is between $91,200 - $143,220 and in Minnesota location, is between $86,800 - $136,290. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid vacation, sick days and holidays as well as paid personal and maternity/parental leaves and an Employee and Family Assistance Program. In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
