Job description

Schenectady County, New York, is seeking an experienced, visionary, and collaborative Nursing Home Administrator to lead Glendale Home, a respected 200-bed skilled nursing facility with a longstanding reputation for providing compassionate, high-quality care to chronically ill and frail older adults.

Reporting directly to the County Manager, the Nursing Home Administrator serves as the chief executive responsible for all aspects of facility operations, including clinical services, regulatory compliance, financial management, quality improvement, risk management, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary leadership team to continue Glendale Home's tradition of excellence while advancing new initiatives that improve resident outcomes and organizational performance.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative healthcare executive with demonstrated success leading long-term care operations, managing regulatory compliance, developing high-performing teams, overseeing financial performance, and building strong relationships with residents, families, employees, elected officials, and community partners. Candidates should possess exceptional leadership, communication, strategic planning, and organizational skills and be committed to fostering a positive workplace culture centered on quality resident care.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and three (3) years of administrative experience in a long-term care facility; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of qualifying administrative experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be eligible for licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator in New York State at the time of application and possess a valid New York license upon appointment.
