Job description

Job: Registered Nurse for Med-Surg Unit (MSU). EXCELLENT Staffing Ratios: Non Covid: typically 4:1, max 5:1. Covid patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1.Required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS and ACLS. PALS is preferredExperience: Three (3) years of med-surg experience, 1 year pediatric experience preferred, MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH BOTH ADULT AND PEDIATRIC PATIENTS. Setting: 20 bed medical surgical unit for adults and pediatrics Shift: 12 hour shifts, must be flexible. In addition to inpatient, may be assigned to help cover Covid testing clinics and/or Flu Immunization clinics as needed. Travelers are expected to attend staff meetings.Housing: Information can be found under the 'Facility Group Document' section. Orientation: on Mondays only - If your traveler misses the compliance deadline, they will be pushed to the following scheduled New Employee Orientation.Other: Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or could be task-oriented such as answering call lights, phones, etc
Shift: 12 hour shifts. Typical schedule is 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next, plus up to 1 on-call shift/week. Must be flexible and open to days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needs may change.
