Job description

The University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) in Knoxville is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist to join our thriving, well-established, hospital-employed cardiology group within the Heart Lung Vascular Institute, one of UTMC’s nine Centers of Excellence.

UTMC is a Magnet®-recognized, 700+ bed, Level 1 Trauma Center and the only academic medical center in the region. Consistently ranked among the Top Hospitals in Tennessee by U.S. News & World Report, UTMC serves as a major referral center for East Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky, and Western North Carolina.

We are a large, collegial, multi-specialty cardiology group with providers in general cardiology, interventional, structural, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, advanced heart failure, and preventive cardiology. Our practice continues to expand due to a strong reputation for quality, high community demand and robust regional referral patterns.


Position Highlights

  • Join a growing division of 30+ attending cardiologists and 60+ total cardiology providers
  • Busy clinical practice from day one with large internal primary care network and abundant regional referrals
  • The position will include a mix of procedural time, inpatient service coverage, outpatient clinic, and imaging if desired.
  • State-of-the-art facilities including modern cath labs, echo, nuclear imaging, cardiac CT, cardiac PET, and MRI
  • Support staff includes experienced APPs, cath lab techs/nurses, nurse navigators, pharmacists, and an integrated call structure that allows work-life balance
  • Faculty appointment available within the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine
  • Teaching opportunities with Cardiovascular Disease fellows, and medical students
  • Participation in clinical research is available
