Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on-site in Melbourne, Florida.

The candidate will help maintain the engineering model, developing structure and behavior diagrams that describe the system architecture and design. They collaborate with other IPTs to obtain the information and data needed in the model. The candidate should have experience in developing Cameo models and utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.

We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision.

The candidate must have a firm understanding of traditional systems engineering concepts and methodologies and must be able to apply and adjust these concepts and methodologies to an accelerated process in the early stages of the engineering design. The candidate must be familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), be able to work within an agile environment, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

Essential Functions:

Work with the cross-functional teams to create conceptual data models and data flows

Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility

Implement data strategies and developing physical data models

Coach team members on developing the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the model

Perform Systems Requirements analysis

Management of requirements, include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of relevant experience

Experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework

Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering

Experience modeling software systems and software system of systems

Must have an active DoD Secret in-scope clearance (CE or investigation date in last 5 years) and be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret clearance (Interim required to start).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Modeling and Simulation to include STK, Model Center, MatLab engineering tools.

Experience in integrating and linking various levels of architecture to include logical and physical, physical to CSCIs and other configurations, and across the different segments (avionics, power, communications, mission payload, etc.) typically found on a tactical air vehicle.

Applied knowledge of aircraft design and flight parameters.

Strong verbal and written communications skills and experience presenting and demonstrating concepts to management and customers.

Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
