Job description

About the role:

As a Safety Analysis Engineer you will be responsible for performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors. You will report to the Manager of Loss of Coolant Analysis. This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • As a Loss of Coolant Analysis (LOCA) Engineer you will perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, in particular for Loss of Coolant Accidents
  • Development and assessment of models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
  • Use statistical techniques for performing realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
  • Cognizance of plant specific licensing basis, Analysis of Record, 50.46 reporting
  • Act as point of contact for plant-specific LOCA specific inquiries from both internal and external customers
  • Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines required: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
