Position Overview

Theย Quality Control (QC) Inspector โ€“ Night Shiftย is responsible for ensuring all fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing processes meet ASME code requirements and company quality standards. Thisย Quality Control (QC) Inspector โ€“ Night Shiftย role supports production by inspecting welds, validating welder qualifications, and verifying documentation accuracy. The idealย Quality Control (QC) Inspector โ€“ Night Shiftย has strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain compliance in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Required Experience & Skills

โ€ข Knowledge ofย ASME code requirements and welding standards
โ€ข Ability to read and interpretย engineering drawings and weld details
โ€ข Experience withย quality control and quality assurance processes
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and commitment toย accuracy and quality
โ€ข Proficiency inย Microsoft Excel and Word
โ€ข Ability to useย measurement and inspection toolsย (tape measures, calipers, paint thickness gauges)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

โ€ข Read and interpretย Quality Control Manualย requirements for fabrication and assembly
โ€ข Verify welders are properlyย qualified and working within approved parameters
โ€ข Inspect welds forย appearance, defects, and ASME compliance
โ€ข Ensure welds are properlyย cleaned and free of defects
โ€ข Confirm welds are marked with theย appropriate welder identification
โ€ข Verifyย NDE and PWHT processesย are completed and properly documented
โ€ข Ensure calibrated equipment is used forย testing and inspection processes
โ€ข Inspect and documentย pneumatic and hydrostatic testing
โ€ข Stamp ASME code items and maintainย photo documentation
โ€ข Inspectย sandblasting, paint prep, and final coatings
โ€ข Completeย pre-flight checklistsย and verify corrections
โ€ข Verify materials meetย purchase order requirements

Education & Experience

โ€ขย ASNT Certification or required ASNT hours
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements

โ€ข Ability to enter confined spaces through aย 12โ€ x 16โ€ manway
โ€ข Ability to stand forย 10+ hoursย and operate tools
โ€ข Frequentย walking, stooping, kneeling, and confined-space work
โ€ข Strongย visual acuity and depth perception
โ€ข Ability to work in anย industrial environment with PPE
