Job description

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Department: Radiology
Location: Clifton Springs Hospital
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule:M-F; Day hours, No weekends/holidays
SUMMARY:
As a Nuclear Medical Technologist, you play an important role in high-quality nuclear medicine procedures that deliver quality care to our patients.

Performs all diagnostic exams, quality assurance procedures, the receipt, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals, and records all data on the appropriate computerized information system.

The Radiology Department at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, part of Rochester Regional Health, provides a full range of diagnostic imaging services in a community-focused environment. The team supports both outpatient and inpatient needs, serving the Finger Lakes region with high-quality imaging and patient-centered care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Equipment Operation. Perform a variety of diagnostic exams and quality assurance procedures; ensure that nuclear imaging equipment is in optimal working condition.

  • Patient Care. Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the area; educate patients regarding their procedure, and maintain a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam

  • Documentation. Maintains clear documentation within radiopharmacy information systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine or completion of a certification program is required.

  • ARRT and/or NMTCB Certification within 3 months of hire

  • NYS License in Radiologic Technology in the area of Nuclear Medicine required OR must hold a NYS permit and obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.

  • Continuing education classes

New Graduates

  • An official transcript from an accredited school or a letter emailed directly from the school's registrar's office confirming program completion will be accepted upon graduation.

  • Primary source education verification is required within 90 days of graduation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of experience preferred

  • Strong computer and interpersonal/communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
