Job description

Position Title: Nuclear Analyst - TS with SCI eligibility
Position Overview:
is seeking a Nuclear Analyst to provide expert analytical, technical, and programmatic support to Headquarters Department of the Air Force (DAF/A10) across the Nuclear Enterprise mission area. In this role, you will support nuclear enterprise and strategic deterrence mission requirements, which may include nuclear policy, stockpile sustainment, NC3, modernization, arms control, readiness, governance, and related analytical activities. The Nuclear Analyst will develop high-quality analytical products, support interagency and DoD nuclear forums, and assist in the integration of nuclear modernization efforts within the Air Force's strategic deterrence mission. This position is ideal for a detail oriented national security professional with strong experience in nuclear policy, NC3 systems, or strategic deterrence operations.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to support Air Force nuclear enterprise, strategic deterrence, policy, modernization, readiness, arms control, or related mission requirements. • Prepare clear, high-quality policy papers, briefs, and decision documents for senior leaders. • Review, draft, and coordinate nuclear related staff packages, requirements, and documentation. • Support analysis of NC3 system readiness, survivability, cybersecurity, and capability gaps. • Assist in evaluating Joint and DoD nuclear requirements and their impact on Air Force programs. • Prepare materials for nuclear governance meetings and track action items and decisions. • Support Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) activities, including milestone and risk tracking. • Participate in nuclear related meetings and provide concise post meeting insights and recommendations. • Maintain programmatic and historical documentation for nuclear enterprise activities, supporting long-term continuity and knowledge management.

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting nuclear enterprise, strategic deterrence, NC3, or related DoD programs. • Strong knowledge of nuclear policy, strategic deterrence concepts, and Air Force or DoD nuclear mission areas. • Experience conducting research, policy analysis, capability assessments, or technical evaluations related to nuclear or NC3 systems. • Ability to prepare high -quality analytical products, including briefs, white papers, and decision support materials for senior leaders. • Familiarity with Joint, Combatant Command, or DoD nuclear requirements, governance forums, or mission planning processes. • Experience reviewing and coordinating staff packages, comment resolution matrices, or policy and requirements documentation. • Ability to analyze complex technical, operational, and programmatic information and translate it into clear, actionable recommendations. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface with senior military, civilian, and interagency stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:
  • Five or More years of directly relevant experience preferred
  • Experience supporting AF/A10, Air Force Global Strike Command, USSTRATCOM, or other organizations within the nuclear enterprise. • Experience developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), conducting dependency and critical path analysis, or supporting program schedule reviews. • Background in nuclear weapons policy, arms control, or strategic deterrence planning.

Required Security Clearance:
  • Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility; SAP/SAR eligibility as required

Preferred Certification(s):
  • INCOSE CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional) • PMP (Project Management Professional) • Air Force Nuclear Fundamentals Course (NFC)

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in National Security, Nuclear Engineering, Political Science, International Affairs, or related discipline. • Master's degree preferred.
