Engineer - Nuclear-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)
Location: Two Rivers, Wisconsin (Remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C Engineers with backgrounds in nuclear power plant design engineering. This role is responsible for providing technical expertise in support of nuclear plants, performing advanced engineering tasks, and developing minor modification engineering change packages for our active facilities. The ideal candidate will possess subject matter expertise in the nuclear industry and demonstrate familiarity with standard design processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and verify design change packages, evaluate system performance, and resolve plant operational issues.
  • Design modifications for upgrades and obsolete equipment issues with varying complexity.
  • Oversee system modifications across multiple vendors and engineering disciplines, ensuring nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate project execution with operations, engineering teams, external vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Apply standard design processes and nuclear configuration management principles to ensure modifications comply with technical standards.
  • Review Configuration Management (CM) and Engineering Change (EC) packages and database updates.
  • Mentor engineering personnel on nuclear electrical/I&C concepts and design change practices.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience: A minimum of six to ten years of experience in complex engineering tasks within a nuclear plant environment is required. This includes at least two years working with the NEI Standard Design Process for an operating nuclear utility.
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in 10CFR50.59, ASME code, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards (e.g., power systems, ladder logic, ETAP, EDISON for Electrical/I&C; pumps, valves, heat exchangers, ASME standards for Mechanical).
  • Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 Applicability Determinations and Screening processes.
  • A strong understanding of nuclear power plant systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
