***This job is for an Outage Specialist role located at Crane CEC in Middletown, PA.***
Primary Purpose of Position
Responsible for directing the development of detailed plans / schedules for forced, planned, and refueling outages while ensuring shutdown safety, as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA) practice, technical specifications and plant procedures adherence. Directs the implementation of the outage schedule during the execution of the outage. Crosses all organizational boundaries working with all departments and designated team leaders for pre-outage preparation and execution.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Direct and coordinate the detailed schedule and outage plan development for the upcoming unit outage to ensure technical specification compliance and maintain shutdown safety in a manner consistent with station procedures, processes, and goals.
Participate and provide oversight of horizontal schedule reviews and vertical slice reviews.
Provide direction to all departmental planners, schedulers, and specialized teams for the outage plan and schedule preparation and execution.
Direct the development, implementation, and communication of the Shutdown Safety Program.
Direct the outage plan and schedule execution ensuring technical specification compliance while maintaining shutdown safety consistent with station procedures, processes and goals.
Support high impact teams tracking to provide oversight of effectiveness.
Coordinate risk screening in support of overall outage risk management.
Develop and maintain forced and maintenance outage plans. Coordinate outage control center (OCC) training and tabletop drills.
Support development of presentation material for outage readiness meetings and executive challenge meetings.
Conduct critiques for the capture of lessons learned.
Conduct gap analysis and updates to the clean energy center outage template.
Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.
