Maranacook Adult Education is seeking an experienced and motivated CDL instructor to join our workforce development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial driver who enjoys working with adult learners and wants to help students launch new careers in the transportation industry.

Position Details

Rate of Pay: $30.09โ€“$32.76 per hour, based on years of experience
Position: Full-Time CDL Class B Instructor
Location: Maranacook Adult Education, Readfield, Maine

Responsibilities

The CDL Class B Instructor will provide classroom and driving instruction to adult students pursuing their Class B Commercial Driver's License. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing CDL classroom instruction that meets state and federal requirements
  • Providing hands-on vehicle road and range driving instruction
  • Teaching safe vehicle operation, inspection procedures and commercial driving practices
  • Preparing students for their CDL written and road examinations
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress
  • Maintaining a safe and professional learning environment
  • Ensuring instruction and training activities comply with applicable CDL and commercial driver training requirements

Required Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid CDL Classroom and Road/Range Instructor License
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience driving a manually operated Class B or Class A commercial vehicle
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and professional driving practices
  • Enjoy working with adult learners from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels
