Role Overview

ATS nuclear team designs, builds and services mission critical automation and test solutions for the nuclear industry. Our customers rely on us, and we help them transform and build what's next for their business. As a Key Account Manager you will leverage existing relationships with all levels in customer organizations incl. senior management, develop new relationships with business unit leaders to understand their unique challenges and influence perspectives of ATS Industrial Automation. You will use the innovative power of our team to develop solutions to reduce customer ROI's. You will also lead and support the use of the ATS Business Model (ABM) lean tools and principles, driving execution of plans with key performance metrics, daily visual management, problem solving and Kaizen ensuring continuous improvement. You will be responsible for promoting ATS technical capabilities, selling the company's overall engineering and manufacturing solutions, positioning ATS as the leading and premier automation, integration and manufacturing company.

Specific Responsibilites
  • Contributes to development of innovative concepts for nuclear applications and detailed proposals for potential customers.
  • Manages a proposal development team and performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical engineering functions in support of technical project planning. Provides technical expertise to the project execution team and project manager.
  • Develops and implements strategic plans to transform the business in Canada by building markets in decommissioning/waste management and new builds
  • Develops and executes sales and customer strategies that drive growth aligned to the Industrial Automation business strategy that drives objectives, and revenue in line with long-lasting sustainable growth expectations.
  • Manage complex, high-value customer accounts while fostering strong relationships with senior decision-makers, positioning ATS Industrial Automation as a strategic and trusted partner for sustained success.
  • Apply data-driven analysis of market trends, customer needs, and business performance metrics to anticipate change, adapt strategic priorities, and pursue emerging growth opportunities in a dynamic and transformative market environment.
  • Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources.
  • Generate new leads, identify, and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select deals in line with strategies, and facilitate pitch logistics.
  • Establish and pro-actively engage a strategic partner network within the industry.
  • Work closely with ATS innovation and product managers
  • Create sales strategies to obtain objectives for assigned product line(s).
  • Recommend refinements to ATS product, pricing and packaging strategies
  • Develop and execute branding and positioning strategies with customers, effectively communicating a 2-5 year account direction aligned with mutual business objectives.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
  • MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred

Industry & Commercial Experience:

  • Nuclear Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in senior sales, business development, or key account management roles within the Canadian nuclear sector
  • Nuclear Operations Knowledge: demonstrated understanding of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, inspection, and asset lifecycle requirements
  • Nuclear Decommissioning: proven experience supporting sales, marketing, or business development activities related to nuclear decommissioning projects

Technical & Market Expertese:

  • Advanced Manufacturing Knowledge: working knowledge of automation, robotics, tooling, manufacturing processes, and industrial technologies
  • Market Development: Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and expanding new markets, customer segments, or business opportunities
  • Growth Leadership: track record of scaling revenue, market share, or business performance at a rate exceeding market growth

Strategic Account Management & Leadership:

  • Executive Relationship Management: proven ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders
  • Negotiation Skills: demonstrated success negotiating complex, multi-year commercial agreements while protecting long-term business interests
  • Change Leadership: experience leading and managing organizational, commercial, or customer-driven change initiatives

Health & Safety Requirements

   Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance.
   Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process.
   Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained.
   Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements.
   Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
   Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition.
   Attend HSE Due Diligence for Management training sessions.
