We're seeking a Control Room Operator who's ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This position reports directly to the Process & Quality Area Manager. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. The primary objective of this position is be trained in control room efficiency of the Control Room Operator classification.


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
  • Responsible for management of material flow and quality.
  • Ensure that his team is performing the equipment checklists.
  • Maintain control room control activities and verify efficient processing
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
    Other responsibilities as assigned

 
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or years of equivalent experience
Required Work Experience: 3 years' minimum experience working in a control room operation at a manufacturing plant.
Preferred Work Experience:  Cement manufacturing is preferred but no required.

 
Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work various shifts
  • Knowledge of the cement manufacturing process and equipment a plus.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong work standards and attendance record.
  • Must be willing to learn operating parameters of equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and evaluate.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Must pass written examinations.
  • Willingness to pursue additional training to prepare for future advancement.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
