Terms of Employment

  • Duration: W2 Contract, 3 months
  • Location: Hybrid (Reston, VA — once per week);
  • Candidate must be local to the DMV area


Overview

  • Work with a leading firm in the healthcare/member services industry as part of the Member 360 engineering team. In this role, you will drive critical cloud migration initiatives by transitioning core backend application components into AWS, modernizing database layers, and integrating cutting-edge AI/GenAI services. This role is ideal for a seasoned Senior Full-Stack Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver immediate impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Migrate existing enterprise Java application components and web services into the AWS cloud environment.
  • Integrate application layers with MongoDB and Aurora PostgreSQL databases as part of the database modernization initiative.
  • Develop and maintain front-end UI components using Angular, ensuring seamless integration with backend APIs.
  • Implement and integrate AI/GenAI services and components into existing application frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional architecture, data, and engineering teams during regular on-site planning sessions in Reston, VA.
  • Ensure robust CI/CD and DevOps practices are followed for continuous deployment in cloud environments.


Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience integrating GenAI or AI-driven microservices into enterprise applications.
  • Expertise in Full-Stack Java development (Java, Apache Tomcat, RESTful Web Services).
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud application migration.
  • Strong hands-on database experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL (including AWS Aurora PostgreSQL).
  • Working experience with Angular for front-end web development and backend API integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to onboard quickly and deliver production-ready code in a short timeframe.
  • Ability to attend weekly or bi-weekly on-site planning meetings in Reston, VA.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with legacy database systems (e.g., UDB) and data migration strategies.
  • Solid understanding of modern DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • AWS Certifications are plus
