Terms of Employment

• W2 Contract, 12 months

• This position is onsite in OakBrook Terrace, IL

• Shift Schedule: 08:00 AM-04:30 PM (Hybrid Schedule on specific days)


Overview

Our client is seeking 2 Senior Project Manager to support transmission & substation upgrades including large voltage equipment switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers. Responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation to completion. They will oversee all aspects of a project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. This is a financial heavy role.

The Senior Project Manager will lead critical infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on Transmission and Substation upgrades. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team to oversee complex technical requirements and contract management within the utility sector.


Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Transmission and Substation upgrade projects from inception to completion.

• Oversee contract management duties to ensure all project agreements and deliverables are met.

• Utilize technical expertise to navigate project challenges within a utility and construction environment.

• Collaborate effectively with a project team to meet organizational objectives.

• Maintain project schedules and technical documentation using industry-standard software

• Developing project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

• Leading project teams and coordinating activities to ensure that project goals are met.

• Monitoring project progress and identifying and addressing issues or risks.

• Communicating with stakeholders and senior management to provide updates on project status.

• Managing project budgets and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget.

• Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

• Developing and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders and external partners.

• Leading project meetings and facilitating discussions to drive project progress.

• Managing project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports.

• Supporting the development and implementation of project management best practices and processes.


Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 5-10 years of project management experience.

• PMP or CAPM certification.

• Utility Transmission & Substation exp

• Proficiency in Primavera software.

• Strong technical background with specific experience in the utility or construction industries.

• Proven contract management skills

• Full life-cycle management experience.

• Utility, infrastructure, or construction type experience.

• Experience with vendor bid evaluations, financial forecasting, managing a budget, reviewing plans, planning, scheduling, communicating, updating records and databases.

• Substation knowledge

• Proficient with MS Office, P6, Microsoft project, PowerBI, and Unifier.

• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

• High intelligence, energy, and integrity.
