Middle School Permanent Substitute Position

Location: Great Neck, NY

Position Type: Full Time 

The North Shore Hebrew Academy (NSHA) is a co-educational Modern Orthodox Yeshiva that inspires students to become passionate learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers and dedicated community members.

We are seeking a permanent substitute who is enthusiastic about working with middle school-aged children and genuinely loves teaching. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth within our institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise lunch periods.

• Cover classes throughout the day when teachers are absent.

• Maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.

• Actively help students develop social and emotional competencies during class coverage.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the entire middle school team.

Ideal candidates possess the following qualifications:

• Prior teaching experience and excellent classroom management skills are essential.

• College degree required; a Master's degree is preferred.

• A collaborative and teamwork-oriented approach to education.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Candidates with strong extracurricular experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: $35,000 - $50,000
