Application Deadline: Please submit your application by 11:59 pm EST September 14th, 2026 About the Position

Wild Card with Rachel Martin is an interview show that serves as an antidote to the cynicism and chaos of modern life. Rachel's soulful conversations with some of the most influential and thoughtful minds of our generation reminds people of the things that matter most.

This is a union-represented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA.

This is an NPR editorial role covered under the terms of the NPR Ethics Handbook. All editorial staff are bound by this guidance. Editorial staff are defined as staff members who play a role in shaping the journalistic or creative direction of NPR's content, including events.

  • Pitch and book guests who have the right mix of thoughtfulness, vulnerability and humor to match Wild Card's tone.
  • Take responsibility for video tasks, including multiple layers of coordination, logistics, creativity and sensitivity in the storytelling.
  • Work with the Wild Card and visuals teams to figure out new formats for Wild Card content that will help reach new audiences.
  • Help refine Wild Card's presentation on major video platforms, including thumbnails, titles, landing pages, etc.
  • Excel at directing and executing visual storytelling forms such as cinematography, photography and lighting, as well as be proficient at executing motion graphics, where applicable.
  • Clearly communicate the vision, project goals, narrative scope and timeline for each production.

The above duties and responsibilities are not an exhaustive list of required responsibilities, duties and skills. Other duties may be assigned, and this job description can be modified at any time.
