Responsibilities

The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and rerouting bus routes in order to meet the door-through-door transportation needs of the frail and elderly population. Physical attendance at an InnovAge facility is essential to performing the job duties.

  • Maintains and runs the Routing software scheduling program.
  • Acts as a liaison between transportation associates, managers and the Director of Transportation via phone calls or other technologies.
  • Develops, prints and updates daily work and following day work schedules for each Transportation Associate utilizing the Routing scheduling program and distributes in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and updates the participants’ database on a regular basis.
  • Assumes responsibility for personnel and route substitution(s).
  • Distributes all required information concerning the following day’s transportation schedules in a timely manner.
  • Assists driver’s in the field with unplanned and changing situations in addition to keeping drivers updated on events such as cancellations, add-on’s or changes in conditions.
  • Handles the reservations for sub-contracted rides.
  • Performs the daily closing and ensures that all trips have been completed as planned. Forwards all necessary information to the Transportation Manager on call before the close of the office.

REQUIRED

  • 1+ yr dispatch experience position or transportation operations that utilized scheduling software program.
  • HIgh School Diploma or GED

PREFERRED

  • Previous experience using Novus or similar software program
  • Bilingual
