Job description

Experienced Fire Alarm Technicians with a focus on installation and programming are sought for immediate employment. Ideal candidates should have a solid history of reliable attendance, demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety, and excel in collaborative team environments.

This position is targeted toward professionals with expertise in installing and programming Notifier, Gamewell, or Kidde fire alarm systems. Notifier certification and specific programming experience are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities for Fire Alarm Technicians:

  • Respond to scheduled and emergency service requests, performing comprehensive troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing system equipment.
  • Program fire alarm systems or possess experience in programming low voltage systems such as fire alarm, nurse call systems.
  • Resolve problems by researching multiple alternatives on a regular basis.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other contractors and building owners.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals related to the role as a fire alarm technician.
  • Keep management informed of project status through effective communication.
  • Complete all necessary company paperwork as required.
  • Provide on-site assistance to customers, addressing their questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Preference given to candidates with industry-related or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
  • Preferred experience with manufacturers such as Notifier, FireLite, Edwards/EST, Kidde, Bosch, Gamewell and other fire life safety systems.
  • Expertise in programming Notifier, Gamewell or Kidde.
  • Participate in the on-call program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Applicants must meet background and driving record requirements as they will be required to drive a company vehicle as a fire alarm technician.
  • Proficiency in using and applying industry-related equipment, including MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Notifier Certification a plus.

Nice to Haves

  • Certification and experience with Notifier, Gamewell, Kidde, Edwards/EST, FireLite or other fire life safety-related systems and manufactures.
  • NICET I or equivalent and or Industry related certifications to the role as a fire alarm technician.
  • The ability to confidently troubleshoot and service existing systems.

Benefits:

  • $35.00 - $45.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
