Title: Shift Manager 

Location: Nothing Bundt Cake 

Reports to: Bakery General Manager/Bakery General Manager 

Position Summary: 

The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Shift Manager/Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations during assigned shifts. Acting as the on-site point of contact in the absence of senior management, the Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing team performance, upholding operational standards, and ensuring exceptional guest experience. This role bridges team execution with operational leadership, setting the tone for service, safety, and success. This role also embodies the NBC culture and brand standards that support setting the example for team members and ensuring outstanding client experiences. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and supervise NBC the daily shift operations of the store during scheduled shifts, ensuring consistent execution of standards and procedures. 

  • Ensure product inventory is in place and support the ordering of products according to standards.  

  • Provide direction, support, and guidance to team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. 

  • Maintain strong product knowledge to educate guests on NBC cakes, flavors, sizes, and complementary merchandise.  

  • Deliver outstanding guest service by modeling warm, attentive, and solution-oriented behaviors. 

  • Support the preparation and production and preparation of all products in the bakery, including baking, frosting, and packaging of cakes following proprietary recipes and food safety guidelines.  

  • Ensure production activities meet all safety and sanitation standards.  

  • Manage shift scheduling, delegate tasks, and ensure team members take legally compliant breaks and meal periods. 

  • Support with onboarding and training new team members; reinforce best practices and operational procedures. 

  • Maintain a calm and focused demeanor under pressure and during periods of high volume. 

  • Monitor food safety, quality, and sanitation standards, including compliance with health department regulations. 

  • Assist in food preparation, baking, packaging, and presentation of products, ensuring consistency and accuracy. 

  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including checklists, cleaning duties, and shift reports. 

  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism, resolving issues promptly and escalating when appropriate. 

  • Maintain cash controls and reconcile registers; prepare daily financial reports as assigned. 

  • Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management. 

  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
