Job description

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Press Brake Operator in Lavonia, GA, to set up, program, and operate press brake machinery used to bend, notch, and punch metal sheets and plates according to blueprint specifications. This role is responsible for producing high-quality metal components, performing inspections with precision measuring tools, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Pay rate is $18.00–$20.00/hour.

Essential Duties:

  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specification sheets to understand production requirements
  • Set up and operate computer-controlled press brake machines according to project specifications
  • Program press brake equipment for accurate bending, notching, and punching operations
  • Ensure proper positioning, alignment, and secure placement of metal materials within the machine
  • Monitor machine operation and pressing processes to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Measure and inspect finished sheet metal parts using precision tools to verify conformance to specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during machine setup or production
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic upkeep on press brake equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all health, safety, and manufacturing facility procedures at all times

Requirements/Skills:

  • Previous experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders Knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup procedures
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and tool selection
  • Ability to use calipers, tape measures, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and correct operational issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
