Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The position sells and promotes Northern Safety's catalog products. Must continually generate new business while continuing to service the existing territory base. This involves calling on existing customer base plus cold calling of potential customers within the defined sales territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Travel the defined territory to grow business through direct face to face contact with customer base.
• Builds customer relationships through consultative selling techniques, soliciting orders and/or talking with customers via phone and virtual meeting place technology.
• Work with customer service and branch location to develop new business.
• Work with inside sales representatives to establish contact for customers to place orders, delivery schedule and obtain pricing information.
• Quote prices on products and determines if a customer would fit into a volume purchase program.
• Responsible of keeping abreast of customer purchases by using monthly customer reports.
• Follow up on any samples or catalogs issued to prospective or existing customers.
• Work with Product Trainer to gain knowledge of what applications products are used for so customers are kept informed of current developments.
• Promptly meet territory reporting deadlines and have competitive reconnaissance.
• Responsible for recording activities and opportunities in our CRM on a daily basis.
• Supply company with information in regards to any customer feedback and be a resource to all current sales channels.
• Plan and organize sales strategies.
• All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college; one to three years selling experience preferred; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
• Must have state driver's license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be organized and thorough.
• Ability to be flexible when working with other associates and managers.
• The ability to be a self -starter, objective, assertive in their work.
• Exhibit and maintain confidentiality with company related issues and materials.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of team leaders, managers, associates, and customers.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages. A
