Job description

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is currently seeking a Powder Coater to join our 3rd shift team. As a Powder Coater, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to a variety of metal parts and products, ensuring a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. You will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, contributing to the overall quality and appearance of our goods.

Triple Cities Metal Finishing provides a wide variety of surface finishing options to a multitude of industries including aerospace, agricultural, automotive, computer, electronics, household, industrial, medical, military, construction, and office parts. We are ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D & NADCAP Certified!

Since 1945, TCMF has made innovative, as well as necessary changes in the way we conduct everyday business. From advanced surface preparation to highly technical finishing processes, we can handle the smallest pieces to large parts over 30 feet long.

Our three shifts of skilled professionals in our 125,000 square foot facility have made us the vendor of choice for metal finishing for Northeastern United States. Whether it is electroplating, electroless plating, wet paint, or powder coat, we finish it right the first time!

Position Overview

  • Prepare parts for the powder coating process by cleaning, degreasing, sanding, and masking as necessary.
  • Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ovens, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Select appropriate powder coatings according to job specifications, color charts, and customer requirements.
  • Load and unload parts onto coating lines or racks, ensuring proper spacing and orientation for even coating.
  • Apply powder coatings evenly and efficiently, maintaining consistent thickness and coverage to meet quality standards.
  • Monitor the coating process, adjusting equipment settings as needed to achieve the desired finish and adhesion.
  • Cure coated parts in an oven at specified temperatures and times, ensuring proper adhesion and durability of the finish.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects such as runs, drips, thin spots, or contamination, and perform touch-ups or rework as required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform basic maintenance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the powder coating booth and equipment, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain records of coated parts, colors used, and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Previous experience as a Powder Coater is preferred.
    • Knowledge of powder coating techniques, materials, and equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Shift:

  • 3rd Shift: Sunday โ€“ Thursday 10:00pm-6:30am

Total Compensation Package:

  • Wage
    • $18.00/hour plus a 2nd shift differential.
    • Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
