Responsibilities
- Perform pre-use, monthly, quarterly and/or annual inspections for the equipment in which they will operate
- Fastens attachments, such as graders, plows, and rollers, to tractor with hitch pins.
- Releases brake, shifts gears, and depresses accelerator or moves throttle to control forward and backward movement of tractor.
- Steers heavy equipment by turning steering wheel and depressing brake pedals.
- Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Heavy Equipment Operator experience will be considered.
- Minimum five (5) years directly related experience required.
- Previous backhoe, 924, D5, Grader, 5T dump truck and grader experience.
- Dozer sidehill and road building experience.
- 25 ton - 50 ton forklift experience.
- Previous experience working in North Slope, AK preferred.
