Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is looking to hire an experienced Pest Control Technician to service Hazleton and surrounding areas.

Pest Technicians are responsible for identifying, managing, and preventing pest infestations in residential and commercial settings. This role involves inspecting properties, diagnosing pest-related issues, applying treatments, and educating clients on effective pest management practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine Appropriate Treatment: Assess the type of pest infestation and decide on the most effective treatment method for elimination.
  • Manage Customer Expectations: Provide clear guidance to customers on what to expect after treatment, including potential follow-up steps or precautions.
  • Conduct Inspections: Inspect customer premises to identify signs of pest activity and assess the severity of the infestation.
  • Complete Documentation: Ensure all necessary paperwork is filled out and submitted after each job, including details of services provided and materials used.
  • Coordinate with Office Staff: Communicate effectively with office personnel to schedule pest control appointments and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Apply Pesticides Safely: Administer appropriate pesticides to affected areas, adhering strictly to label instructions and safety protocols.
  • Address Customer Requests: Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests for pest control services, offering solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Identify Sales Opportunities: Recognize and present opportunities for customers to purchase additional services or pest control products offered by the company.
  • Adjust Treatment Plans: Modify chemical concentrations or treatment methods based on the size and scope of the pest infestation to ensure effective results.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional pest control certification or training preferred.

Experience:

  • A valid drivers license is required with at least 3 years of clean driving.
  • 3 years of pest control experience and a certified Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicators license required.
  • Good communication skills and customer service experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple service accounts daily.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in various environments (indoors and outdoors).
  • An understanding of pest behavior, pest control methods, and safety protocols.
