Job description

Process Superintendent

Summary

Resource Erectors is seeking a Process Superintendent to join a team responsible for the commissioning and operational management of a minerals processing facility in the South Central United States. This role oversees froth flotation and gravity separation circuits, transitioning from technical project leadership to daily production and laboratory management. We require a leader with technical expertise in mineral beneficiation and the operational grit to manage industrial production.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning & Technical Optimization

  • Support the initial commissioning and start-up activities for the facility, ensuring all physical separation systems—including flotation cells and gravity circuits—meet design specifications.

  • Evaluate plant layouts and structural modifications to optimize throughput and reliability.

  • Develop and refine mass-balance models and process flowsheets to maximize recovery and product grade.

  • Assist with the troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within the processing circuit to resolve initial operational bottlenecks.

Operational Leadership

  • Transition into a primary shift leadership role once the plant is fully operational, directing the workforce to achieve production goals while minimizing costs.

  • Manage daily production scheduling, resource allocation, and equipment utilization to meet sales demand.

  • Serve as the acting lead for the facility during senior management absences, overseeing all responsibilities for the shift.

Quality Assurance & Laboratory Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the quality lab, managing lab technicians and ensuring the accuracy of chemical and physical quality testing.

  • Coordinate production and R&D data across the technical team to align process adjustments with customer specifications.

  • Maintain comprehensive quality control records, including non-conformance logs and inspection reports.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a behavior-based safety culture and ensure full adherence to MSHA and environmental regulations.

  • Assist with leading safety meetings, workplace inspections, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate hazards.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or similar.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience in heavy industry, specifically within minerals processing or mining.

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in froth flotation, gravity separation, and mass-balance modeling.

  • Leadership: Proven track record of supervising multi-disciplinary teams in an industrial environment.

Benefits & Compensation

The organization offers a competitive salary range ($120,000 – $150,000 base) commensurate with experience, paired with a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Company-paid medical benefits for the employee.

  • Performance-driven bonus potential and relocation assistance.

  • Vehicle allowance.

  • 401(k) retirement plan.
