BLS, one of the largest and most established certified public accounting firms in Delaware, is seeking professionals with either experience or advanced technical skills in a variety of audit and small business areas with a strong nonprofit organization emphasis, including preparation and review of work papers, financial statements and reports.

Requirements:

Job duties include:

  • Planning, executing and supervising the full scope of audit and accounting engagements for a variety of non-profit organizations
  • Preparing and analyzing various financial statements up through performing technical review
  • Primary liaison between the client, Supervisor, and Manager or Director
  • Staying compliant with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups
  • Mentoring of new staff on assignments, while simultaneously performing efficiently on engagements
  • Preparation of tax returns for nonprofits and varying entities is a plus

Other qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • 3-5 years accounting experience in an audit or accounting environment with emphasis on nonprofit auditing
  • Client relations skills
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit audit compliance
  • Ability to travel to same-day work at client locations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of ProSystems software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office and other programs related to accounting and auditing
