Job Description Summary
Provide Instruction in various Non-destructive Testing (NDT) methods. This will be taught using a combination of lab, lecture, and modeling . Training will be in accordance with ASNT's SNT-TC-TC1A and National Aerospace Standard NAS-410.
Del Mar College offers training in five different NDT disciplines: Liquid Penetrate, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Radiography and Ultrasonic. Instructor shall have a working knowledge of all five (5) inspection techniques.
Candidates for this posting must be willing to obtain Level-II certification in all five (5) disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Non-Destructive Testing ***OR*** ten (10) years of documented work experience.
Level-II certified at one time ***AND*** ability to re-certify within six (6) months of hire.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Basic knowledge of various inspections techniques.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to complete an Inspection with less than normal supervision. Locate, interrupt and apply technique data.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should have been Level-II certified at one time and able to re-certify within six months of hire.
