Job Title

Facilities Pipe Fitter - 1st Shift

Location: Bloomington, MN | On-Site
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Pipe Fitter to support the reliability and performance of our manufacturing facilities. In this role, you'll maintain and install critical piping systems that enable uninterrupted semiconductor operations.

This role is especially critical during semiconductor process tool installations, where precise piping, hookups, and commissioning directly determine tool readiness, safety compliance, and production ramp success. Your work will directly impact equipment uptime, safety, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair facility piping systems including high-purity gas, water, and waste lines.
  • Install piping systems for Semiconductor Production Equipment in a Clean Room environment.
  • Respond to maintenance and repair requests to ensure uninterrupted operation of distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair installed equipment using manuals, technical expertise, and collaboration with other technicians.
  • Support Equipment Engineers by contributing to specifications for piping system installation and maintenance.
  • Develop material take-offs and place, track, and manage orders for piping projects.
  • Support company initiatives related to quality, safety, environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield improvement, and cost containment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Pipe Trades Experience with a minimum of four years of semiconductor-related experience.

  • Proficient in Orbital Welding and Tube Bending in a clean environment.

  • Experience with Ultra High Purity Stainless Steel Gas Piping

  • Experience with Ultra High Purity Deionized Water Piping

  • Strong knowledge of piping codes and industry best practices for semiconductor facilities.

  • Hands-on experience with piping installation, system maintenance, component replacement, and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic technical calculations.

  • Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)

  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management and respiratory protection requirements.

  • Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 60 lbs., and work at heights up to 20 feet.

Preferred

  • Journeyman Pipe Fitter status
  • Experience with Hazardous Chemical Distribution and Waste Piping Systems
  • Experience with Clean Room Protocol to include Gowning and Cleaning Procedures.
  • MN High Pressure Piping License
  • Municipal Natural Gas License
  • Experience in cleanroom environments, with demonstrated compliance to gowning, de-gowning, and contamination control protocols.
