Part Time Instructor - Veterinary Technology
The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Veterinary Technology at our Bryan Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
The Veterinary Technology Program is seeking qualified individuals that may beassigned an entire course on a semester basis or be utilized on an as-neededbasis to substitute for full-time faculty in specific sections of a course(s).This is not a distance education position.
Principal Accountabilities
1) Utilize established course syllabi and course materialsto deliver lectures or coordinate laboratories based on course objectives andstated student learning outcomes;
2) Attend all assigned class and/or laboratory and/or clinical sessions,present course content, and give/receive instructions in classroom, laboratory,and/or clinical setting;
3) Design examinations, quizzes, assignments, teaching laboratories, andprojects; construct grading rubrics, and grade student tests and projectspromptly;
4) Participate in curriculum development, review, and revision; and makerecommendations for equipment, materials, textbooks, and supplies;
5) Perform effectively and safely the duties of the LVT/DVM whilesupervising/instructing /assisting students in laboratories or clinicalsettings;
6) Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License orCertifications
1) Must be a current licensed veterinary technician (LVT) or licensed veterinarian(DVM) in the State of Texas
2) Have at least 3 years experience in a clinical veterinary setting.
3) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with otherfaculty, staff, students, and others as required.
4) Demonstrate excellent mathematical abilities as well as excellent writtenand oral communication skills.
5) Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum CompetenciesMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods; performlight-moderate lifting; listen and speak effectively; twist, bend, and reach toperform tasks; hand, arm, and body strength needed for both large and smallanimal restraint; no known allergies to animals.
Preferred CompetenciesTeaching experience in veterinary medicine, veterinarytechnology, or related field.

2) All selected applicants, whether utilized or not, are required to furnishofficial transcripts of all college work as soon as possible after hire.Failure to provide an official transcript will result in the applicant beingremoved from the list of Part-time instructors
