Senior Frontend Engineer (Full-Stack Capable)

Orkes

Santa Clara, CA • On-site

$180K - $240K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Job description

*Position is IN OFFICE at our Santa Clara, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) office

About Us

Orkes is the operating system for AI agents and workflows, providing the battle-tested infrastructure required to move AI from simple conversation to real-world action. Built on the open-source Conductor engine, our platform empowers developers to orchestrate complex business processes at scale, handling billions of workflows without worrying about failure or visibility. We enable enterprises to seamlessly bridge the gap between LLM-driven reasoning and deterministic execution, creating reliable pathways for AI to drive actual business value.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Frontend Engineer (Fullstack-capable) at Orkes, you will work at the frontier of agentic workflow development, defining how enterprises build, manage, and visualize the future of AI integrated work. You will own the architecture across our Conductor workflow builder-the canvas where developers create and link complex agentic workflows-as well as the mission-critical control plane tools used by SREs, Customer Success teams, and our enterprise clients to manage and monitor their clusters at scale. This is a unique opportunity to build high-performance, intuitive UI infrastructure to power scalable, observable business engines.

Must-haves

  • 7+ Years of experience
  • Frontend architect in React/TS - owns state, perf, and component-system standards across apps
  • Has built genuinely hard UI (IDEs, real-time node-graph/canvas editors or data-dense dashboards)
  • Owns UX/product judgment; shapes requirements, not just tickets
  • Drives cross-team frontend strategy (design system, framework decisions)
  • Credible into API backends and BFFs, ideally further into microservices when needed - owns the API contract, not just consumes it.
  • Raises team craft: testing, accessibility, performance budgets
  • AI-coding experience - look for those who prescribe/tell AI exactly what to do vs those who ask AI to make judgment calls and decisions

Nice-to-haves:  Dev-tooling background (for example building IDEs like Cursor or VS Code, Low Code/No Code tooling, Graph-node tools), Next.js; Java/Spring Boot, data-viz (D3/Recharts/Tremor); strong design-tool fluency

More Details

We offer a competitive total compensation package, featuring a base salary starting at $180,000-$240,000 depending on experience and leveling, plus generous equity. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered: skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.

  • Status: Full-Time
  • Type: In-Office
  • Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Santa Clara, CA)
  • Department: Cloud & Platform Engineering
  • Reports to: Head of Engineering

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision
  • Flexible PTO
  • Support for personal development
