What is a No Experience UGC Creator?

A No Experience UGC (User-Generated Content) Creator is someone who produces content, such as videos, photos, reviews, or social media posts, for brands and businesses without needing prior professional experience in content creation. These creators often get paid to share their honest opinions or showcase products in a relatable, authentic way. Many brands look for everyday people to generate content that resonates with real audiences, making this a great entry point for those new to social media or content creation. This role is accessible to beginners, as companies often value authenticity over polished, professional work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a No Experience UGC Creator?

To thrive as a No Experience UGC Creator, you need creativity, basic content production abilities (like photography or video editing), and a strong understanding of social media trends, even without prior professional experience. Familiarity with tools such as Canva, CapCut, or native platform editing features is common, and a strong online presence is often helpful. Adaptability, authenticity, and effective communication are standout soft skills for engaging audiences and brands. These skills and qualities help creators produce compelling, relatable content that resonates with viewers and attracts brand collaborations.

How can a No Experience UGC Creator effectively build a strong portfolio to attract brands?

As a No Experience UGC (User-Generated Content) Creator, starting your portfolio can be challenging, but it's highly achievable by creating sample content for products you already own and love. Focus on producing high-quality photos, videos, or reviews that highlight your creativity, authenticity, and ability to engage viewers. Many brands look for creators who can showcase products in relatable, everyday settings, so emphasize natural storytelling and genuine enthusiasm. Consistent posting on social media platforms and tagging brands can increase your visibility and demonstrate your skills to potential clients. Collaborating with other creators and participating in online UGC communities can also help you learn industry best practices and gain feedback.

Job description

As part of Home Chef's Marketing team, this role plays a central role in the production of performance-based social media content across paid and organic channels. Working collaboratively within the video team, this position is the hands-on creative engine for PMT content-taking creative direction from the Performance Content Lead and executing it end to end to produce video that drives measurable consumer engagement and supports Home Chef's performance marketing goals. The ideal candidate brings advanced shoot-and-edit production skills and the ability to turn briefs and creative direction into high-performing short-form content. Expertise in on-camera and UGC-style production, a nuanced command of platform-specific trends, and data-informed storytelling instincts are essential for success in this fast-paced, collaborative environment. Just as important, this is a versatile, do-it-all creative role: the ideal candidate also brings light copywriting skills-crafting punchy hooks, captions, VO scripts and on-screen text in Home Chef's voice-and basic design fluency to produce simple graphics, thumbnails, and work within templated assets that keep content polished and on-brand.

  • Execute the full production process for performance social content in collaboration with the video team-including on-camera shooting, UGC-style and lifestyle formats, shot lists, storyboards, and editing-from concept through final delivery
  • Utilize Adobe Premiere Pro + After Effects editing software to edit high-quality videos that engage our target audience across various social media channels
  • Optimize videos for different social media platforms by adhering to their specific formatting and duration requirements
  • Write the words that carry the work-hooks, captions, on-screen text, and short scripts-in Home Chef's voice and each platform's native style
  • Create light supporting design-simple graphics, text overlays, thumbnails, and templated end cards-to keep content polished, consistent, and on-brand
  • Exercise independent creative judgment in evaluating content quality and effectiveness, incorporating team feedback to continuously raise the standard of video output

Cross functional collaboration

  • Actively contribute to performance creative brainstorms by bringing original data-informed insights-synthesizing platform research, competitive analysis, and audience behavior to contribute to new content directions for Home Chef's paid and organic social channels
  • Use performance campaign data, audience insights, and Home Chef business priorities to inform creative development and iteration decisions-bringing a results-oriented perspective to team creative discussions

Asset + Footage Organization and Maintenance

  • Systematically label and organize raw footage, edited versions, and final cuts in an intuitive file structure for easy retrieval
  • Ensure all media assets follow consistent naming conventions to streamline collaboration and avoid confusion
  • Build and maintain organized libraries of footage, graphics, sound effects, and other assets, making them readily available for future projects
  • Schedule and manage regular backups of all footage and project files to protect against data loss
  • Work closely with editors, producers, and creatives to ensure that all footage is properly stored and shared according to project timelines and needs

Social Channel Research:

  • Continuously monitor platform trends, algorithm shifts, and competitor creative to proactively surface new performance content opportunities-translating research into actionable creative strategies for the team
  • Document video content-related processes and guidance for future reference

This position requires 0% travel.
