No Experience Trauma Informed information

What does no experience trauma informed mean in a job posting?

'No Experience Trauma Informed' typically refers to job opportunities that do not require prior work experience but do seek candidates who understand or are open to learning about trauma-informed care. Trauma-informed approaches recognize the widespread impact of trauma and emphasize creating safe, supportive environments for individuals who may have experienced trauma. Employers may provide training to help new hires develop trauma-informed practices even if they haven't worked in this field before.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a trauma-informed professional with no prior experience?

To thrive as a trauma-informed professional with no prior experience, foundational knowledge of trauma principles, an understanding of trauma’s impact, and relevant education or training in social work, psychology, or related fields are important. Familiarity with trauma-informed frameworks, basic intervention strategies, and compliance with confidentiality standards is often required, with certifications such as Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) being beneficial. Strong soft skills like empathy, active listening, cultural sensitivity, and emotional resilience help build trust and support healing. These skills and qualifications are vital to creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters recovery and empowerment for individuals affected by trauma.

How can someone with no prior experience support trauma-informed practices effectively in an entry-level role?

If you're starting a role that emphasizes trauma-informed care without prior experience, your openness to ongoing learning and self-awareness will be key. Entry-level team members often receive on-the-job training and mentorship, and they are encouraged to collaborate closely with experienced colleagues. Common challenges include understanding boundaries, maintaining empathy without overextending yourself, and recognizing signs of trauma in clients. Being proactive in seeking feedback and utilizing available resources will help you grow, and many organizations offer workshops and certifications to support your development in trauma-informed approaches.

Job description

Description
Integrative Psychotherapist | Reset Brain and Body
Ann Arbor • Plymouth • Northville • Farmington, MI (In-Person / Hybrid)
Come practice the way therapy was meant to be.
If you've ever felt constrained by rigid, symptom-only treatment plans or corporate productivity quotas, you already know why Reset Brain and Body exists.
We built a practice that honors the whole human-both in front of and on the couch. Founded on the reality that 50 minutes of traditional talk therapy isn't always enough, we integrate somatic, nervous-system, and mind-body approaches into our clinical work.
We are hiring a fully licensed psychotherapist who wants to bring their authentic self to work, trust their clinical intuition, and practice alongside a supportive, highly collaborative team.
Why Reset Feels Different
  • Autonomy over rigid protocols: We don't hand you a script. We provide the safety and structural support for you to meet clients where they are using the modalities you know work.
  • A W-2 environment built for longevity: Enjoy financial stability, strong benefits, and a caseload designed to prevent burnout (~20 client sessions/week).
  • Workplace culture that isn't just a marketing line: We are a Certified Great Place to Work. Expect weekly consultation hours, shared learning, and a team that shares the weight of this work.
  • Healing spaces: Warm, serene offices designed for calm, grounded sessions.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $125,000 / year (W-2 employment status)
  • Healthcare: 75% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match
  • Time Off: Generous PTO + flexible scheduling that respects your life outside the clinic
  • Growth: Monthly professional development stipend + ongoing in-house consultation
How to Apply
If this aligns with the kind of environment you've been seeking, we'd love to connect. Submit your resume along with a brief note sharing what draws you to integrative work and what energizes you most as a clinician.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
• Provide high-quality, integrative psychotherapy to individuals, couples, or adolescents in an in-person or hybrid capacity across our Southeast Michigan locations.
• Utilize trauma-informed, mind-body modalities tailored to the client (e.g., EMDR, IFS, somatic work, mindfulness, expressive arts, or Sensorimotor Psychotherapy).
• Maintain a full-time caseload of approximately 20 client sessions per week (~30 total working hours inclusive of admin, notes, and team collaboration).
• Participate in weekly team consultations, professional development, and community connection.
• Embody the core pillars we teach: breathe, move, nourish, connect, rest.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Licensure: Fully licensed in Michigan as an LPC, LMSW, LP, LLP, or LMFT.
Clinical Focus: Strong foundation or genuine pull toward integrative, somatic, trauma-informed, and mind-body approaches.
Experience: Ability to work with individuals, adolescents, or couples.
Availability: Willingness to offer select evening or weekend hours to meet community needs.
Presence: A grounded, curious clinician who values ongoing personal and professional growth.
