Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Student Accessibility Services Note Taker on the Dahlonega Campus. UNG's Student Accessibility Services (SAS) Note Taking Service helps qualified students with disabilities locate note takers. Note Takers are assigned on a first come, first serve basis and at the discretion of the SAS Note Taker Coordinator. Information about disability, accommodations, and who is registered with SAS is confidential. Note takers are expected to not disclose the identity of the student for whom they take notes and must sign a confidentiality agreement. Note takers must be enrolled in the class for which they are taking notes, take clear legible notes, and upload those notes to notetaker. ung.edu within 24 hours after each class, in order to provide a qualified student access to class notes.
Responsibilities
  • All requirements must be completed in order to receive priority registration and payment.
  • Must sign a student Accessibility Services confidentiality agreement.
  • Must successfully complete the online training and quiz.
  • No prior work history required.
  • Take clear, concise and legible notes of each class, or post comments in cases where class was canceled or no notes were taken.
  • Arrive at class on time and attend all classes, except in cases of illness or emergency.
  • Pre-arrange for a substitute note taker for days when you will be absent.
  • Post notes or comments to: notetaker.ung.edu in a timely manner (within 24 hours of class).
  • Check UNG email account daily and respond to any communication form SAS regarding notes.
  • Communicate effectively with Student Accessibility Services if a problem arises.
  • Give SAS 2 weeks notice if you cannot continue in the note taking position for any reason.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Skilled note taker -Organized, reliable, and responsible.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic Computer skills (for example: Internet Browsers, Word, and Scanning Documents).
  • Able to keep information confidential.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Experience attending class and taking notes.
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress indicated by a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • All requirements must be completed in order to receive priority registration and payment:
  • Must sign a Student Disability Services confidentiality agreement.
  • Within one (1) week of accepting position, complete the note-taker online training and pass a quiz.
